Safe And Certain Super Glue Remover Tips

By Lisa Cooper

Superglue takes seconds to stick on all the wrong places. Because of its strength, it should also be removed as fast as possible. This is the biggest challenge for most people, especially avoiding the pain or damaging the affected area. You need a super glue remover that is easily accessible. Here are excellent home remedies that will protect your skin from damage.

Remove it by rubbing and separate the area as soon as possible. When allowed to stay, it will stick very fast and prove impossible to remove. Use a wet piece of cloth that will keep the area from drying. You should also not spread it to other parts of your body to avoid extending the damage.

If the superglue has already dried up on your skin, you need to apply other removal mechanisms. They include the use of tweezers or nails to peel it off the surface. Monitor whether the affected part is painful especially when trying to lift it off. If the affected area is sensitive and has soft tissues or skin, seek professional medical assistance in removing. You might damage the underlying tissues.

Soak the affected area in water to make it soft for removal. Water softens the adhesive, making removal easier and fast. Add some soap or detergent into the water and soak your finger or cover the affected area for a minute. Using a spatula or spoon, try to scoop it off the skin. You might repeat the procedure several times to completely remove it from your skin.

People with sensitive and soft skins or if the superglue has fallen on such an area are advised to use mineral spirits. They are very effective in loosening the skins and controlling damage. It takes time for this adhesive to soften and soak. This means dipping the finger or affected area several times. Do not be forceful but use gentle strokes and continuous soaking.

Acetone is an option for people with hard skins. Those with sensitive skins are supposed to use mineral spirits as discussed earlier. They will find acetone to be very irritating. Further, acetone should never be used on an open wound. The immediate remedy is to soften the area by soaking it in water. Adding vinegar will also help to loosen it. Rub the area with the acetone based nail polish remover. Cotton swab should not be used because it leads to a violent reaction.

Laundry detergents are also effective in removing the glue on a normal skin. The finger or affected area is soaked in the diluted detergent for a few minutes. Depending on thickness, you will soak the finger several times and continuously rub until you achieve desired results. Margarine is also an effective home remedy that will provide a solution for people with a soft skin.

Sensitive areas like eye lids and lips require professional assistance. While you can apply the non-toxic remedies listed above, they still expose your sensitive skin to pain and damage. These areas should be treated with ultimate care because of the potential of permanent damage.
