On the list of ways to to generate competitive advantage (and just down right feel good) requires you to simply convey to your customer "Thank You For Your Business." Now before I move forward I have got to say I am not an evangelist or looking to act as if I have completed it 100% of the time. I would give myself a real 60% score in this particular department. What I've noticed though is that 60% has provided the following benefits around my business:
Benefits Include: * Repeat Business * Referrals * Longer Customer Lifetime * Provided Additional Resources * Sense of Camaraderie With Client
I have already been working to make it a habit after speaking somewhere, going to my gate within the airport I'll drop a hand written thank you note to my client inside the mail. I have seen whenever I implement even a couple of techniques below, the fan club expands.
So here are several Approaches To Say "Thank You For Your Business"
1. Infamous Thank You Card (Make is personal) This is one of the most effective ways to say thank you for your business for almost any client. Just don't be generic with this. I suggest getting a thank you card that has "thank you" on the front and the inside is blank. Therefore, you won't attempt, in the course of a fastpaced time, to just sign your name and throw it in the mailbox. Make it personal, and also have your customer feel at home by recapping the experience of working together.
2. Pick-up The Phone Certainly one of my practices is around 1 to 2 weeks after the event (providing them time to rest and recuperate) is to give them a call 1st to say thank you then to ask them for any feedback about the experience of using the services of me or company. I usually lead off thanking them, then looking for feedback because this lets the client recognize that I would like to hear from them what worked and what didn't work. I then end out the conversation thanking them again. It is a great formula.
3. "Show Me The Movies!" A little something I learned from of my previous employers was presenting Movie Passes. I once thought, "wow, that's kind of cheap." Then I saw the clients reaction. It was gold! She would give them the Movie Passes and people would go bonkers! Well, let's just say, after my last journey to the movies, having movie passes might have helped on the wonderful price of the Movie Experience.
4. Send Birthday Cards! Real simple, when their birthday comes around, send them a straightforward "Happy Birthday" card. Again personalize it and place your card inside just in case they've misplaced your other card.
5. Holidays Are A Great Opportunity Among the list of commons techniques that businesses say "thank you for your business" is as simple as sending holiday greetings and cheer in a card. Well, that said ,, Holidays are a great opportunity to get noticed! Do something diffrent than a typical card. Maybe a Basket, Popcorn (one of my favorites) or even a new calendar for the new year. Whatever it is, you would like your customer to do a double take in terms of your Holiday greetings.
6. Customer Anniversary Days This one has been a charmer with 3 of my clients. One that has rehired me for the last 9 years consecutively. Each and every year, my client will receive a call from me saying "hey" can you believe it was a year ago when we last worked together? Thanks again for the chance to work with you . . ." and it opens up into bigger conversation which usually leads to them hiring me again. Just acknowledging this is a ninja way to say "thank you for your business."
7. Customer Appreciation Days Another way of saying "Thank You For Your Business" is through wonderful customer appreciation days. If you are local business, this one might be a great opportunity to spend time with your clients face to face. It doesn't have to be expensive or anything like that. If your office can handle the capacity, order some food for the day and invite them to your office to have a bite to eat with you. Now, probably on 5 to 10% of your customers may show, however, when customers are informed about this, they embrace the gesture.
That's it. 7 inexpensive, approaches to show your appreciation for your customers business. Though many companies are trying this, with these 7 ways, you can blow your customer away and stand out just by simply saying "thank you for your business."
