The Importance Of Custom Coatings On Surfaces And Products

By Jerri Perry

Individuals and companies are realizing the importance of custom coatings on different materials, surfaces, items, and products. Coating can be done on metals, plastics, polymers, stones, rubber, wood, fiber, and other substrates. Customized coats are intended to serve different purposes to the owners of the products or surfaces. They can be used to strengthen surfaces and substrates, enhance beauty, and protect materials from damage.

The use of powder coating offers many benefits to products owners. This type of customized coats provides an excellent finish on surfaces, which offer resistance to corrosion, impact, abrasion, heat, and fading from extreme heat and sunlight. The coat can come in almost any color and finish such as low gloss.

Anti-slip coats could be used on floors to create the grips needed for safe walking. There are also non-stick coats, which may be used in cookware to prevent staining on surfaces. Photoluminescent coats are applied on surfaces to make them glow or acquire better visibility in dark. These may be used in road marks, and other surfaces where visibility is needed in dark.

You can take a product regardless of what material is it made of, and then apply a customized coat depending on the need for the coating. A hard floor, which is slippery, may be turned to a nonskid surface by using a coating material. This material offers an added layer of safety of the materials. This is used in areas, which tend to be slippery, and they can prevent slip and fall accidents.

Corrosion occurs in metal products and it can cause a lot of damage. To ensure that metals are less corrosive, the coats are applied to prevent the effects of corroding. This is why many metals that are prone to corroding are coated with corrosion resistant material. That material can last for long without suffering from contaminants, which are induced by corrosion.

Others may be coated in order to make them attain grip and become anti-slippery such as floors or pavements. The coating material may add anti-slip adhesive surfaces on products to prevent slip and fall in the event of emergency. You may have surfaces coated to make them glow in the dark and allow people to see them. Others are simply resurfaced to make them more functional and durable.

In essence, there are many different ways and methods of coating, and they all have specific functions, which can range from beauty, strength, durability, to functionality. One example of customized coating is the powder coat, which helps, provide a durable finish on different surfaces. This type of coating offers a true advantage of flexibility and it can be formulated to suit specific coating needs of products.

Chemicals can cause damage on surfaces of materials, and to protect them, they can be coated using specialized customized coats. Surfaces that are able to stand up different chemicals can extend their durability if a coat is applied. The coat resists the chemicals from penetrating the substrate and thus making it more durable. Depending on what type of material is being coated, and the purpose of coating, different custom coatings can be used.
