Private Labeling Has Many Benefits

By Billy Genthner

If you have never heard the term private labeling, it is definitely a smart concept for any business owner to learn about. Many companies use private labeling as it offers them several substantial benefits. Basically, private labeling is simply placing your company label on a product that was created by another company. This happens all the time in the food and beverage industry, but also for products such as cleaning products or even a niche such as wholesale electronic cigarettes. There are many good reasons to consider private labeling.

1. A Private Label Creates Buzz For Your Brand

If you have a shelf full of a product such as wholesale e-liquids, no doubt you sell many different brands. People might be able to find these brands at many other vape shops. But, what if you had a selection of private label wholesale e-liquids or wholesale e-cigarettes? These products would be "exclusive" to your vape shop, no one else could sell them, and they would feature your company's logo and name.

Each time a customer used your wholesale e-cigarettes or e-liquids, they would be reminded of your store. If the product is something they enjoyed, then they will return again and again to purchase your private label. Creating brand identity is one of the best ways to build up your business.

2. You Can Save Money With Private Labeling

You might be shocked to find out that private labeling is cheaper than buying a brand name product, but that's often a big reason why companies opt for private labels. Usually you can save at least 10% and perhaps more than 20% with private labeling, and this is true from products from cookies to wholesale e-liquids to cooking equipment and much more. Not only are you saving money, you are building up your brand name along the way.

3. You Are In Control With Private Labeling

When you line your shelves with brand name products, there often are some restrictions with which you have to comply. For instance, a company might not want you to bid on certain advertising keywords relating to their brand or they might have other advertising constraints. With your own brand, you are free to do as you please, especially when it comes to marketing and advertising and this can be a huge benefit. This is not to say that you shouldn't also carry some popular brand names as well, though. Just keep in mind that while a consumer can find one brand of wholesale e-liquids at many other stores, they can only find your private label at your shop.

If you are interested in private labeling, do some research and select a company that creates quality versions of products that you sell. For instance, for the wholesale e-cigarette market, there are companies that can create many unique flavors of wholesale e-liquids specifically for your company and then help you with the actual label creation and perhaps even some graphic design. All of this can set you on a path toward building up your vape shop and brand.
