Importance Of Drilling Noise Control

By Anita Ortega

Sounds that usually come from heavy machinery at their activity are normally disturbing to the people living around. It is usually associated with many health defects such as hearing impairments. This means that these sounds need to be controlled to prevent them causing harm to people. There are numerous mechanisms that are used to normalize the sound intensity such as barrier construction and engineered mechanisms. Drilling noise control has been encouraged in oil drilling plants and other industries for its many benefits.

The human ear is designed to receive and respond to a specific sound intensity and frequency and if they exceed the fixed range, the eardrum and other ear organs are likely to get impaired. Sound from boring equipment is actually of high intensity thus needs to be controlled to avoid hearing impairments. Companies should implement sound regulating measures to provide a safe working environment for people.

High intensity sounds also causes thickening of blood resulting to many health complications. This hinders blood circulation in the body as well as oxygen supply to essential organs of the body. This causes breathing difficulties thus causing some parts to function ineffectively. Efforts should be made to ensure that such health impairments are avoided.

People living in noisy areas are likely to experience low thinking ability as well as frequent chronic headaches. This is because it usually affects the functioning of the brain as it is meant to work best in less noisy areas. This makes the people in noisy areas become less productive as their performance is poor when it comes to doing activities. This calls for sound regulation measures to enhance productivity of people.

Sound causes stress and anxiety among people. It also causes discomforts that affect performance of people in their activities making them unproductive. Sound should be controlled because it allows people to do their activities without any disturbance.

High intensity sound causes poor cognitive functions to people. It also causes cardiovascular problems, as there is oxygen deficiency in the body organs. This makes children who learn in areas of high sounds to experience low cognitive functions and cardiovascular problems making them to perform poorly in school. Conducive environment need to be created for learning institutions and this can be achieved by regulating the sound that drilling equipment produce.

Industrial areas have been adversely affected in terms of population density, as many people tend to run away from noise pollution. People are aware of the effects that are related to sound pollution and they usually run to evade them. This also affects people in terms of recreation and privacy rendering them uncomfortable.

Oil drilling plants should promote peaceful environment for living and human activities by standardizing the intensity of sound they release to the environment. This would enhance effective performance of people in their activities thus improving their standards of living. It as well protects human health by avoiding all health defects that result due to high sounds thus creating a suitable environment for humans.
