Industrial Safety Supplies In Work Places

By Sally Delacruz

In a company there are policies that govern it. The management and workers are mainly the one that form a company and they have some responsibility towards each other. The workers have the responsibility to work and give a good and quality output to the company while the employers have the mandate to protect their employees in that they should ensure that health and safety are secured. Industrial safety supplies are equipment and protective clothes/items that employees need when working in hazardous place.

The employees would work in fear knowing that there are no industrial protective measures accorded to them in an organization. It is the right of the employee to know where the contacts they would well being has been taken care of.

It is a must that safety measures are put in a company. Examples are gum boots, gloves, overcoats, ear pads, helmets, masks, first aid kit, paracetamols etc. As a worker, you should be able to know that the necessary measures are put in place before starting to work for a company. You should always put your security first, always knowing what to do or who to get in touch with in case of an emergency.

It is advantageous for the employer when the safety precautions are in place in that, the employees will work better and faster giving good results, the employees feel cared for and encouraged knowing that their security is looked after. The employer and employee relationship is also improved.

The benefits of safety measures to the employees are: they feel safe to work in healthy environment knowing that protective measures are in place, they do not feel like they are risking their lives working in a place that is unsafe. This makes them work better and faster and as a team making the work load easier. And the output is greater.

Some of the disadvantages to employer for not putting safety precautions in place include: slow and unhappy workers who know that their employers do not have their best interests at heart. Dissatisfied workers who fear for their health. Paying heavy fines to the authorities because they do not follow the terms and conditions necessary to operate a company. The company operates at a loss because of the frequent resignations of workers who are not happy with their working terms.

Unsafe working conditions may cause death to the employee because of the unhealthy working conditions, it may cause physical and mental disability, the employees may also have internal sicknesses due to poor clothing or even inhaling of dangerous chemical. The poor working conditions also cause unhappiness and low self esteem to the workers, which may cause low pay due to unproductivity.

Therefore, the bottom line remains, individuals should be wary of their working areas, always making sure that their industrial security measures are put in place. They should know that it is their right to work in a safe place and should also know that they can report their employer if their rights are infringed. Individuals should learn to check for the protective precautions in a before starting to work there.
