Why It Is Important To Go For Spiritual Guidance In Life

By Lelia Hall

In the belief of different religion some people are chosen to provide guidance by partaking in different spiritual functions. The chosen people are supposed to offer spiritual guidance to the congregation or the gathered group of people. Some of the functions that they perform will include leading services like baptism, wedding, and so on while still providing guidance.

The roles and responsibility of these people will vary but also match in some aspects. Some of the roles and responsibility of the church ministers will include: ensuring coordination within their church, providing guidance and support in the general administration services, conducting different ceremonies, participating in welfare and community service, conducting prayers while providing encouragement among others.

In order for you to attain the position of being a minister in different churches, you will have to have attained a certain level of qualification. Different denomination will place emphasis on different levels of qualifications. Some require certain level of educational qualification e. G. Seminary education or theological qualification. Some will pay close attention to the natural gifts of a person. This too may differentiate who is to give which role but the most important factor is that the person must have a calling.

Some churches have set some specific procedures that you will have to comply with for you to be given a certain responsibility. These churches have different categories which help in serving the church. These will include the likes of bishops, priest, and deacons among others. Some of the churches with this kind of categories will include the likes of Catholic Church, Anglican Church, Lutheran churches, and the Eastern Orthodox Church.

The role of these people will include: for bishops, administering sacramental services within the church and also governing the daily running of the church. Priests are involved in administering sacraments and also providing guidance to the different congregation. The authority to ordain or consecrate buildings is not within their jurisdiction. Deacons are mandated to providing the necessary support to the church: this is to ensure the church runs in an efficient manner.

There have been changes within the management of the church. The structures involved in the management have over time changed. In northern Europe, clergy was mandated to carry out some of the functions that are now carried out by the bishops and also the priest. There was also the allocation of hereditary positions within the church. Most of these scenarios have changed over time.

Countries in the part of the Swedish empire, including Finland and Baltic have a more preserved catholic tradition. This is not the same with countries in different regions within the world. Due to their resistance to reforms, the roles of priest, bishops and deacons are clearly outline.

The different orders/ministers in the church have from tradition had the responsibility of officiating over acts of worship, rituals, and ceremonies. Some of the important ceremonies which they conduct include baptism, confirmation, anointing of the sick, holy orders, and divine services among others. Over time, different groups of people have been incorporated into the church. This will include the like of pastors.

There has been involvement of new groups of people in the management of the present church. This include pastors, chaplain, and also padres. Pastors are mandated with the responsibility of preaching the gospel. Chaplain and padres will offer guidance to different groups of congregation including the military and some specific groups. There has also been the emergence of different types of denominations; this will include the likes of Youth ministry, campus ministry and married couple ministry among others.
