When you think about it, promoting your billing company takes time and lots of effort. If you are like me, you probably want to get ahead and make more money. However, it is often hard to do so when your phone is not ringing. It is important to get your billing company off the ground by promoting it effectively. For starters, you need to understand and focus on what matters the most. Right now it is your money being spent wisely. Make sure to put aside around 20% of your revenue for marketing purposes.

If you are found in the search engines, then people will often see what you can offer them. A lot of professional billing companies say that they enjoy working with healthcare providers that are well established. This is because billing companies often only get 4% to 16% of the revenue that is created. This can be a lot of money if the medical practice is earning 2 million dollars a year or more. If a company is earning only $250,000 a year, the revenue is often not enough for a medical billing company to profit from. However, if you are getting lots of calls from small medical offices, it can eventually give you more profits.

Most people use a business if they can find it. They can either find you through the: internet, phone book, magazine or some other form of advertising. If you don't have a good location that people can see your medical billing services, then you really don't have much of a business. Most medical billing companies are in offices and there are no neon signs advertising their business. It is important to have marketing companies promoting your business. If you cannot be found, than nobody can do business with you. It is important to have a strong internet prescense and many field marketers working for you. You will find that a pay per click campaign can cost well over $20,000 a month. Many pay per click ads will often cost you $25.00 a click or more. It is important to get an expert to work with you. You need callers wanting medical billing services.

Many medical billing companies make the mistake of thinking that they only need a couple thousand dollars a month to advertise. In today's world, you need at least $10,000 a month to market your business effectively. You also need to have amazing phone negotiating skills in order to land decent profits. Your company will profit financially if you have good closers on the phone. I always say to meet face to face with your potential clients. Never try to close a deal over the phone if you possibly can. If you receive a call from a medical doctor in New York City and you live in Virginia, it may be wise to fly there to meet with them. I say this because if your client is pulling in more than 2 million dollars a year in revenue, this can be a good contract for you. If you cannot personally fly, hire someone that can meet them in NYC.

Many medical billing companies try to push away small contracts. They often say, "I am not interested in working with you because you are too small." However, this is not a good answer. Sometimes you have to take a financial hit in order to build your reputation first. Once doctors begins seeing that you bring good results, "the big fish" will start calling you. At first, try to do a good job with any medical practice that wants to do business with you. It is a door opener into much bigger projects later on down the road.
