Professional Nannies-A Guide to Making the Good Professional Nannies Stay

By Alice Sy

Professional nannies are few, even rare. Families who happen to find the right nanny would want to keep her for life. Sometimes though, the nanny would eventually flee away. There are many reasons why nannies leave their employers early or last in one job. The family's treatment and standing is one of the main causes. With a professional nanny, a long lasting relationship must be established and it is possible.

Establish her job description

A nanny from a nanny placement, about to work for a family but with no clear job purpose is a sign of doom. Their tasks should be laid down even before her works starts. The employer can make it easy by engaging in a contract specifying the tasks of the nanny, whether it is child minding alone or some housekeeping duties. In case the employer decides to add some duties, amendments can b easily applied. At least the nanny knows what to do and what not to do.

Give Financial Satisfaction

A nanny agency will always try to give the best job offers to their nannies. Employers must also do the same. Nannies, especially professional ones deserve to be compensated with their exceptional service. Don't make her job boring; once in a while give some perks or additional day-offs. Award the nanny with a few privileges from time to time or increase the salary on schedule.

Keep the respect alive all the time

Whatever you do, don't disrespect the nanny. It is the family's respect along with appreciation that encourages them to work for long years. If the nanny feels respected and appreciated she'll be happy to stay in the job and even harbor special care for the family.

Professional nannies are hard to find nowadays. It's even harder to find someone who'll stick around. For families, finding the right person to work and even live with them can be rewarding. With this kind of relationship, it is important to make it last.
