How To Do Plastic Card Printing

By Adele Madden

A very essential skill that every employee in a business must posses is how to be resourceful in utilizing different types of printed materials. Printed materials like Ids or business cards are essential in showing clients or suppliers that the business is a professional one. One of the best ways to use printed documents would be of course plastic card printing.

Usually, businesses utilize these kinds of cards for their employee Ids and calling cards. Business cards are of high importance because these documents will show that a company is a professional one. It is for this reason that employees are taught how to produce different kinds of printed documents.

Now in order to do this, it is important that one have the following equipment and supplies in the office. Basically, one will be needing a plastic card printer and a few of these cards. So to start the process, one must first design the desired document in a piece of paper and think of how it will look. Conceptualizing is always the first step because without it, one will not know what to put inside the computer.

Now before getting to work, office people must first be aware that these printers have special type of ribbons which can print out the colored sections. The only downside here would be that only one ribbon can be used at once. This means that another ribbon must be loaded if the card is multicolored.

So after the printer ribbon has been loaded, install the software into the computer and run the program. Now run a simple text for photo editor which can do simple tasks like add words, add pictures, edit text, and change color. The first thing to do would be to fix the size of the card so that it is not too small and not too big.

After that, one may now fix up the color and handle the text of the document. Now it is essential that one decide on the best font size, font family, and font color of the wording. If the design of the wording does not look nice, then people will have a bad first impression about the company.

Once the design is finished, the last step would be to of course print it out. Now the first thing one must do would be to select the first color he would want to print. Then he should go to the preferences menu and click on that color. Once he has done that, he must load in the plastic card and just wait for the finished outcome.

So for those who are in business, this is how to do simple plastic card printing. To make life easier, it is advisable that one must always keep the printer on when the ribbons are loaded. This will save a lot of time and energy because the printing can just continue on without stopping until everything is done.

  1. Thanks for sharing this post I also share with you some tip hope you like. • Background Design– Whatever background you choose, be sure to use something that will not detract from the actual employee information. Make sure that all information is clearly visible from a distance.
    • Photo Size – The starting point is a color photograph. From a design perspective, the larger and more vivid the photo, the easier it is to authenticate the cardholder. The recommended minimum photo size is 1” x 1.25”. It is also important to crop all photos from the shoulders up. We recommend that you utilize a solid color backdrop for photo taking, no brick walls, or patterned backgrounds!
