Almost 15,000 Jobs Created By Doritos Locos

By Cornelius Nunev

The term "job creators" does get flung around, doesn't it? Typically, silver-spoon executives with fake tans claim to be them, but anything could be one - like a taco. Not kidding on that one, as Taco Bell had to hire 15,000 extra people thanks to the Doritos Locos line of tacos.

Taco Bell getting the mon-ey

Amazon founding buyer Nick Hanauer was recently on those "TED" Talks. He explained that companies do not create careers so much as consum-ers do.

Jobs are produced by demand, so people have to demand thing if they want a rise chain of supply.

You can see the footage on YouTube, though it was buried in the TED footage.

Taco Bell proved his point though. Taco Bell, in fact, is adding 15,000 careers to the payroll simply since the "Doritos Locos" tacos were quite popular and there was such a high demand, according to Daily Mail.

Way too many supporters

Granted, Taco Bell doesn't say exactly HOW 15,000 jobs were added by Doritos Locos. It does seem slightly ridiculous - is that 15,000 more people making the stuff for them? Does it consist of truckers, restaurant staff?

Taco Bell came out with the new taco nationwide and sold over 375 million during 2012. That is a ton of enthusiasts of the taco, according to the Christian Science Monitor. Almost a quarter of all Taco Bell sales came from the one taco.

It costs under $2 to get the Dorito taco, which means you do not need a whole lot of personal money to get the taco. It has 160 calories and 10 grams of fat in the Na-cho Cheese flavor. The Cool Ranch flavor, recently released, has 140 calories and 7 grams of fat.

Only a taco

Lord knows why Doritos Locos are such a big deal. It's just a taco for crying out loud. However, the so-cial networks are going absolutely crazy over it. Same thing with the McRib; it's prac-tically pork gelatin slathered in barbecue sauce on a terrible bun. Are we this bored as a culture that THIS is what it's come down to?

This can be a dull age I guess.
