Can The Protective Group Help Wrestling Shows

By Rob Sutter

If there's one type of experience that is unlike any other live sporting event out there, it would have to be independent wrestling. Being able to watch performers on a local basis work hard in order to be noticed by others seems to bring out the best in most fans. There are many reasons for this and I believe that the most intense of fans will be able to tell you all about this. In order to keep these shows regulated, though, don't you think it's appropriate to look into The Protective Group?

I believe that these indy shows can wind up becoming rather unruly, which is why I feel like The Protective Group, or something similar, could come about. I believe that there is a number of scenarios this group comes into play within and certainly sporting events are included. To me, the fans involved are some of the loudest and they could wind up becoming some of the most involved as a result. You can be certain that this is just one of the ways that authorities such as T.P.G. can come into play.

When it comes to viewing wrestling on television, I cannot help but feel as though certain elements are rather manufactured. Even though I have always been a fan of World Wrestling Entertainment, for example, I could never help but notice just how much the show seemed to hold back. It's not common for wrestlers to focus on specific fans, pointing at them before running them down with words. I'd like to see WWE try to tug at these emotional heartstrings more often because I feel as though it's effective.

This is worlds apart from the shows that you are able to see on more independent levels because they do not have to worry about such regulations. They aren't working for sponsors, so it is easy for them to get away with more. Wrestlers are able to specifically target fans and speak to them, which in turn makes them more hated. This is an especially effective mechanism since not everyone will be able to see the shows in question, meaning that it's easier to make a connection.

It's apparent that some fans are going to be more rabid than others when it comes to their enjoyment of certain shows. Whether you're talking about WWE or the indies, it is very clear that fans are going to act out in one way or another. I can't begin to tell you how many times I have seen such fans dive into the ring when they were supposed to be behind the barricade. They wanted to be able to be part of the show through their own passion of the sport, which is apparent.
